Testimonials

From the Source

April is a wonderful piano teacher. My nine year old daughter has been taking lessons for over a year and instantly felt comfortable with April. She is very personable, reliable and always smiling. My daughter is enjoying her lessons, learning a lot and is looking forward to all the new things she will be learning in the future with April. Many kids feel intimidated, but April makes her feel comfortable and approachable. I would highly recommend April Lisette Ball and know that you and your child won't be disappointed!!"

Sandra O. - Scottsdale, AZ

"April is a true delight. she is always punctual and lights up the room with a true passion for her art. she is always smiling and eager for the days lesson. April is always encouraging and remains positive even during a difficult lesson. She is a great teacher."

Jeff & Amanda W. - Sun City, AZ

"Our family has had the pleasure of having April Lisette Ball instruct our three kids on piano. She is amazing. Not only is she knowledgeable and talented, she is disciplined and holds her pupils to a very high standard. Our kids range in age from 9-12 and she has been teaching them for over a year.  They have grown not only musically but professionally as well, while remaining balanced children. April is able to juggle and manage three very different personalities and skill levels. She is always on time and energized. The kids really have benefited from her outgoing personality, high expectations and knowledge. We can't recommend her enough!"

Jon & Linda H. - Tempe, AZ

"My daughter started voice lessons with April in December and in just a few lessons has come a long way! April is always careful to protect the vocal cords, focuses on breathing techniques and encourages her students to embrace their natural sound. She is a skilled pianist and vocalist and uses her musical history to transform her students by instilling confidence and encouraging creativity. April is always kind and engaged, we look forward to gaining more skill and knowledge through our time with her!"

Marisha C. - Albuquerque, NM

"April provided my daughter with voice lessons.   Although the duration was short, it proved to be most valuable!   Rachel, age 13 at the time, wasn't a stranger to voice lessons since she was singing since she was 8.  Both Rachel and I had high expectations.   April was able to quickly identify Rachel's strengths and give her tips to make her a better singer.   April also played a huge role in selecting a powerful and winning song that was PERFECT for Rachel.   Rachel's delivery and that perfect song won her FIRST PLACE in 4 different talent contests in Hawaii.   Rachel misses April who says "she made me feel comfortable from Day 1.  It isn't easy finding someone who you can click with.   I still have the straw she gave me to practice my breathing!".    Although we are thousands of miles away, April continues to keeps tabs on Rachel's progress.  Needless to say, whether you're a beginner or advanced student, April can work with different levels of experience.  She's an amazing, talented teacher!"

Blue Rose D. - Ewa Beach, HI

"April has been working with our 2 children (4 and 7 years old) for about a month and a half now. I must admit I didn't think that they would both take to the piano, but they love working with April!  She is incredibly gentle with them, and is able to moderate her pace for each of them. They get excited when we say in the morning that it's piano lesson day - that tells you a lot about how good she is. I'd recommend her to anyone who wants their kids introduced to piano."

Zane B. - Albuquerque, NM

"Our son has been taking lessons from April for almost a year. He started at five years old and is learning both music theory and fun age appropriate songs. April is both patient and firm during lessons. Overall a great experience."

"April is an amazing teacher. She teaches my 3 year old twins piano. She is patient and finds joy in seeing them have fun. The books she uses and her methods really sink in and they are learning faster than I thought was possible. I highly recommend her and see us going to Lisette Studios for a long time."

Studio Policies

Tuition/Billing/Attendance

  • There are certain guidelines to which I strictly adhere regarding attendance, absences, the billing process and late fees. These guidelines are consistently maintained as they allow the business portion of my studio to flow smoothly and equitably. However, life happens for everyone...including myself. Whether there is unexpected travel, illness or any other situation. If for some reason a lesson needs to be missed based on these circumstances, please give studio a 24 our notice so that we can schedule a makeup lesson. Please also understand that there are 2 allowable cancellations that can be made up per quarter. Makeups are scheduled for 2 Sundays per month between the hours of 10-3. The other option is using the 5th week in a month as a makeup day.

  • If a student chooses to take the summer off of lessons , please understand that there is no guarantee that same time slot will be available in the fall.

  • This is a private studio and does not follow the "academic school year." Tuition is based on a 12 month period, and divided into monthly payment installments that can be paid with different payment options.  Cash, Personal Checks or Credit Card. Tuition remains the same each month no exceptions. If you miss the first week of lessons please click here to make a safe and easy payment thru PayPal pay now and then we will schedule a makeup lesson. If you "no call", "no show", that lesson is forfeited and can not be made up.

  • Except for holidays, tuition is not adjusted/credited/refunded for any reason. Holidays I observe: Spring Break, Easter Sunday(since this is a makeup day), Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and December 24th-January 1 (lessons will resume on Jan 2nd).

  • Tuition is due by the 1st week or 1st lesson of each month. There will be $10.00 late fee added after 7 days (before 2nd lesson week).

  • Make checks payable to "April Ball"

  • There are no refunds

  • Returned checks will require a $25.00 bank fee.

Recitals and Performances

Recitals are not optional. They are a requirement of my studio. The student and his/her supporters must arrive on time and stay until ALL students have played. Recitals are 2-3 times a year: Spring, Fall & Winter and will be held at The Out Post Performance Space.

Discontinuing Lessons

Please understand that I am running a business so in the event there is a decision to discontinue lessons, a one month notice is required. This allows me a chance to fill the time slot and finish the lessons on a positive note for the student.

Termination of Lessons

Students may be dismissed from lessons for any of the following reasons:

  • Destruction or theft of property in my home or studio

  • Disrespect or uncooperative attitude toward teachers or other students

  • Failure to comply with studio policy

  • Failure to pay tuition on the due date

Studio Etiquette

  • Parents must bring and pick students up on time

  • Students are to wash their hands upon arriving/my arrival at lessons

  • No food, drinks or gum in the music studio. Bottled water is ok.

  • Young children may not be left unattended

  • Students MUST silence or turn off their cell phones during lesson. If you are a vocal student you may use phones to record lessons.

  • In home lessons- Please see above. This is a service I provide but I treat as if in my home studio. If I am running behind (traffic or construction issues) I will text or call and let you know and will always make up the time lost.

My Responsibility

My responsibility to the student is to provide an atmosphere for learning and a well-balanced musical education. Professional standards will be maintained and definite goals will be established for each student. It is my goal to give your students the best possible music education and experience. I engage myself in other activities such as master classes as well as reading on a continuing basis in order to provide opportunities for professional growth and enhance my own teaching skills.
